Wolf Twitter is a WordPress plugin that includes a widget and a shortcode to display your twitter feed.

[wolf_tweet username="wp_wolf"]

This plugin uses a wordpress transient key to cache your twitter feed and display it on your website.

The cache avoids bandwidth exceed on your twitter account and allows you to display your tweet even if twitter.com is temporary down.

    Hi,

I’m still not sure where to put the short code. I want to create the big twitter feed that goes on the front page, so where in the dashboard do I insert the shortcode?

    Thanks,

    Lisa

Hi I’ve figured it out. Thankyou. I put the shortcode in the home page and now see my twitter feed there. My new question is this: it doesn’t seem to change immediately to the latest tweet… How come? Thankyou.

Hi there! Was curious if you have any plans to make all the wolf plugins auto-update? It’s really annoying to constantly have to manually update them and it’s not simple to do. Please advise. Thanks!

    1. BrutalDesign

      Hey,
All plugins have now an auto-update feature.
Since Version 2.0.4 for the twitter plugin

      Cheers

    Hi,
The twitter short code is displaying only on pages but not on homepage and below message is showing on homepage section. Could you please help as I can’t find
exactly where i should put the short code as I have tried to put the code on top holder in ( Live Theme options) Layouts but i didn’t work.
The twitter API has updated to 1.1 version. You have to install the twitter plugin here and use the new shortcode [wolf_tweet username="your_twitter_id"].

    Can you please advise .

    Regards

    Iffy

Installed the newest version of the twitter widget, but on my website the twitter feed just says “Our Twitter feed is currently unavailable but you can visit our official twitter page”. Do I need to edit anything to put in my twitter handle so it will pull from it, or is it an issue with the widget?

Ok on peut s’exprimer en français! Cool! Merci pour ce thème déjà, qui reprend les fonctions principales que l’on attend pour un site dédié à un artiste.
Petit bémol cependant, je n’arrive pas à supprimer la ligne “The twitter API has updated to 1.1 version. You have to install the twitter plugin here and use the new shortcode [wolf_tweet username="your_twitter_id"].”

hey just kicking off with your Live theme.. i love it!!
Is there a way to reduce the size of the twitter banner on the home page?
    thx ~)

    Helloes…

I have the live theme that is great and I really appreciate the visual looks of the theme.. and also the wolf-twitter feature as shortcode, on the theme it works very well from design point of view, and also would be a great way to send quick updates onto the website via twitter too..

However, I have huge problems with reliability of the plugin/shortcode.. It has been working great for about half of the time, and the other half of the time it is displaying the message “Our Twitter feed is currently unavailable but you can visit our official twitter page”.

I checked the info on: http://help.wpwolf.com/2013/11/28/wolf-twitter-my-twitter-feed-doesnt-work/ … but it provides no help as if it was a web hosting side problem, it shouldn’t fetch the feed at all, but it has been working okay on the website for many hours.

First time when it “broke”, I did a change on the homepage, so I was afraid that the updating of the page made something go wrong, and the plugin changed to display the error message – but today, it happened the second time, and I wasn’t doing any changes to the website at all, but in fact noticed that the twitter plugin had went “down”, as I was checking the status on the website from my smartphone.

Problem is, once it goes down, it stays down for hours and hours, with no idea how to fix it – and no idea when it may work again.

It would be great to have some ideas how to further debug this problem, I’d love to have the feature on the homepage of our website, but in the current condition I had to remove the shortcode, because I can’t display on a live site this error message for many hours at a time.

Any help and info would be highly appreciated, I would truly like to get the plugin working, as the design aesthetics side and the integration to the Live theme are great!

when I add the plug in, i either get a litle white box above and below the feed (like space bar marks) or around the bird

    Constantin,

I like your twitter widget, but I have a couple of suggestions.

    1) Please add a ‘count’ option to the shortcode, so it can display more than 1 tweet at a time
    2) Please allow ‘$cache_duration’ to be less than an hour. I think 30 minutes minimum would be reasonable.

    thanks,
    John

    Hello,

    Same problem as @Case :-/
“Our Twitter feed is currently unavailable but you can visit our official twitter page…”

I have the last version 2.0.5.

    Hi there,

I’m using your Twitter widget code on the mentioned site. It works well, thanks, but I’d really like it to show more than one feed. Is there an option anywhere to change this?

    Cheers
    Grant

Hey man great theme. I am having an issue with the twitter plugin. It tells me it is unavailable. I talked to my hosting provider like you suggested on other posts…. but they tell me that YOUR server needs to grant access to my IP…

Is this correct? How can I get it to work?

    1. BrutalDesign

I’m pretty sure they are wrong. My server doesn’t access to your IP in any way. Your server get the twitter feed file from my server.

    Hey,

Great plugin! Thanks for making it available for free. Just wondering if you’re aware of any problems with the twitter ‘bird’ icon not displaying. I activated the plugin on my site and the tweets show up but they are not accompanied by the icon.

    Thanks,
    Best wishes,
    Rob

    1. BrutalDesign

      Hi,

The twitter icon is part of the theme style.
The plugin doesn’t have this icon by default

      Cheers
